Print Products CD Ideas

In lesson today, I  researched the dimensions used for the actually make of a CD and I used these dimensions I found to help draw out initial ideas for my Delilah - Insecure CD.

I used Photoshop to help measure the CD using the dimensions research from the website. I used the guide lines from the ruler tool on Photoshop to measure the correct dimensions for the CD and the hole cut out in the inside. After drawing out my square with the dimension researched I used the circle shape on Photoshop to draw a circle for the CD and another circle for the cut out in the CD. The CD's base colour is going to be black because it would be easy to read the white writing which is consistent throughout the album.

This is my first idea made for my CD design. I used the same font and writing of the text on the cd front cover for the CD to show consistency of my album. I decided to make the artist names in bold capital letters so it can stand out and be visible for the target audience. The title of the song is in italics because it is less important that the artist and the song is a fragile piece so we decided to let the image of the title represent the lyrics in the song. By placing the text at the top of the CD makes it eye catching.

This is my second idea made for my CD design. I am trying to play around with the different placing's of the text onto the CD. I thought putting the text at the bottom make the top seem empty and something is missing, because the first time you look at something you look from top to bottom not bottom to top.

This is my third idea made for my CD design. I made the artist's name and the title of the song separated from each other. I thought if I used the space of the CD it may look better but it looked worst, it make the CD look less attractive and more empty and boring.
